The WWE U.S. Championship mega-match has been booked for September 19 WWE Raw

The WWE United States Championship has been elevated to new heights since Triple H acquired WWE Creative. In the weeks since successfully defending the title at SummerSlam in dominant style, Bobby Lashley became a fighting champion – successfully holding off against Tommaso Ciampa, AJ Styles, and The Miz (in a Steel Cage) in episodes of Raw. But the stakes are up next week as “The All Mighty” will defend his title against Seth Rollins.

“The Visionary” beat Matt Riddle again earlier in the night, denying him a shot in the rematch before costing him a match against Finn Balor and nailing him with Curb Stomp. Rollins then attempted to claim that he was the face of Raw in a backstage promo only to be interrupted by Lashley. Rollins said that all MMA fighters were alike in that they didn’t think before they acted, then agreed to a title match on the September 19 episode of Raw.

Lashley’s third reign as United States Champion began with a victory over Austin Theory and already lost 70 days. Rollins’ only reign with the US title began in 2015 summerslam Pay-per-view when he defeated John Cena in a take-all-match winner with the WWE Championship on the streak too. Cena won the title again a month later at Night of Champions. If he wins, Rollins will become the Grand Slam champion for the second time, joining The Miz as the only two wrestlers to do so. His impressive list of accomplishments includes two reigns as WWE Champion, two as Universal Champion, the Intercontinental Championship, and a six-time tag team title.

Rollins recently gave an interview to From my personal podcast And he talked about the difference in working with Vince McMahon and Triple H as a booker – “I trusted Vince, but getting a breath of fresh air is really good,” Rollins said. “With Vince, it was a double-edged sword: You knew exactly who you were going to, and there was safety in that…If you get a yes from him, then nothing else matters. On the other side of that, he was all over the place. He was That was part of his genius, but it was also very stressful.”

He later added, “He just started the chessboard with all his pieces damaged.” “Right now, he’s just putting all of his pieces in place, and then we’ll go on the march… It’s a huge and very sudden change, which has put all of us in full swing, Triple H included. But I’m very excited to see what the future will look like in the future. In three to six months… This isn’t a hit on Vince. It’s just, exciting new… It’s like stepping into a parallel world.”
